oooo.....ahhhhh.....

Happy (late) 4th of July! I love this holiday! This year we celebrated the 4th on a beautiful day in Round Rock Texas. I love going to the "small town" celebrations where everyone brings their lawn chairs, eats watermelon, and watches fireworks. The weather was surprising pleasant for Texas in July. A nice 85 degrees with a cool breeze was perfect! Round Rock did an awesome job at making a huge event feel like a hometown celebration. There were probably about 10,000 people that showed up, but it felt like only a few hundred. They had 5 skydivers that landed about 50 feet from where we were sitting on a 5 foot landing circle. I was secretly hoping they would miss the target and land right in front of us (hehe), but they were all amazing. It was quite windy and they still managed to do some pretty impressive tricks in the air. Our favorite was "Sky God". He had over 10,000 jumps under his belt! That's impressive!

Of course the highlight of the evening was the fireworks. It was so relaxing just to sit in our comfortable chairs, listen to the band, and eat our popcorn. There was lots of appropriately timed oooooo'ing and awwwww'ing which always makes me laugh. Dallin and I made sure ours were extra loud to show our patriotism (just kidding....) And of course no 4th of July celebration is complete without sitting in a parking lot for an hour trying to get home. All in all, it was one heck of a night!

Happy 4th!
